My natural hair color is kinda auburn.Will i have to get a bleach kit to take it from this dark brown to strawberry blonde, I dont have time to wait until this color grows out I only died it a week ago, but my current stylist told me I could dye it without harm to my hair. I dont have enough money to get it professionally done, any help would be great. If so can you tell me where I can purchase this stuff online for cheap?

If it's a permanent colour, you can't lighten it. You have to wait until it grows out.

When you have dark hair and want it to be a much lighter color, you need to gradually lighten it. You can't just slap on the light color unless you want it to look like a half-assed/second rate dye job.

You need to go to a salon that is good with color correction to get it done properly, otherwise you'll just end up frying your hair.

You can, but I don't suggest it. Bleaching your hair will SIGNIFICANTLY harm it, and that's the only way you can make it strawberry blonde. Also, dyeing it that much is like murdering your hair.

If you really want to do this at home, you can go to beauty supply stores and get bleach kits. They work, but again - your hair will be really damaged so invest in some deep conditioners to help your hair get back to health.

No, you can not redye it lighter without going to salon; your stylist would have to peroxide it blond; and then put the strawberry in the Blondie; do not try this at home;

If you've dyed your hair darker, you CANNOT go lighter with hair dye. Hair dye cannot possibly lighten or remove hair dye. If your hair is naturally dark you CAN lighten it with dye, but once you've dyed it dark the only way to remove it is to A) Bleach it (hello, damage) or B) Strip it (hello, more damage). Most people do not know this, which is why you see so many at-home color screw-ups. Here's an example: Say you've dyed your naturally auburn hair dark brown two months ago. You decide to go a honey blonde color. You put the color on and your roots (two months of re-growth) turn honey blonde, but the rest of it stays pretty much the same.

Just go into your local food store , buy a pint of strawberrys , the riper the better. Take them home and blend them . In the bathroom take the blended strawberries and work it into your hair. With the mixture still working in your hair , find a nice hair net and go to bed with the set.

If you use bleach on a dark brown colour it will lighten to a really ugly brassy copper. if you decide to do this i would recommend having a toner colour available (semi-permanent colour). You will not get strawberry blond but you can at least be a bit lighter. remember if you want to go strawberry blond cause you think it looks better there is nothing uglier than fried, dry, patchy hair. Even your colourist won't be able to get it to strawberry blond with out hurting your hair.

i did it first, washed it out, my hair was orange, i did it again and my hair turned blonde. then i put a dye in it, get a nice strawberry blonde one, and i looked good. your hair will be dry after you do all that but get some deep conditioner. you can use olive oil, leave it in for an hour

TRY IT...YOU WILL SEE THE DYE COMING OUT WHEN YOU RINSE...I WOULD DO THIS FOR ABOUT A WEEK AND CONDITION AFTER EVERY TIME...THEN YOU COULD RECOLOR YOUR HAIR..BUT TO DO IT RIGHT NOW YOU MAY END UP BREAKING THE ENDS OF YOUR HAIR OFF AND THEN YOU WILL HAVE MORE OF A MESS THAN YOU HAVE NOW..I AM A STYLISH AND I WOULD NEVER TELL YOU SOMETHING LIKE YOURS DID...IF SHE WAS YOUR REGULAR STYLIST SHE COULD BE NICE AND LET YOU PAY PART NOW AND THEN NEXT PAYDAY PAY THE REMINDING BALANCE...BUT THE DISH SOAP IS HARSH AND IT WILL TAKE ALOT OF THE COLOR OUT FOR YOU..

um no and good luck. I had to fix a color job (job interview . . .) about 2 weeks after dying it a bright color, and take it dark, and it was so fried I also had to have 3" cut off. so no . . . and good luck.
