you need to buy very light blonde colour. if your hair is getting a orangy tone it seems to me that your hair is a dark blonde naturally and your not leaving the product on long enough. it really depends on your natural shade.you can get 5 shades lift with a creame based colourant or 7 shades lift with bleach. however, advice from anyone who hasn't seen your natural colouring is no guarantee of success. has a hairdresser, i never usually advise without seeing the client first. be careful with bleach!!!!!!!!!

I have always heard that lemon juice is a good natural lightener for hair.

You have some red natural highlights i'm gonna guess. Try a product called Blondisma but keep a close eye on it cause it changes very quickly

Go to a beauty salon and ask a stylist to do it for you.

I read in a magazine that if you squeeze salt water in your hair and scrunch it up, it gives you a very pretty blonde look. I'll double check later when I find the magazine.

Revlon has a kit that is great for that. Make sure that it's bleach, and not color. If you are naturally blonde, then there isn't a huge threat of miscoloration d/t your original hair color.

My daughter is in cosmetology school and is learning about coloring hair. In order for hair color to be changed several shades a stronger developer has to be used.

Are you leaving the color on the time that the box recommends? Please be careful and don't fry your hair! I have colored my hair and my both daughters (all naturally blonde) for many years. Most hair coloring manufacturers (Clairol, Revlon, Loreal etc) have websites and toll-free hotlines. They should be helpful if you don't find help here. Best wishes for beautiful hair!

the way you say "everytime I do it" sounds like you are doing it often. If you keep doing this, all you will end up with is yellowish orange hair that is breaking off in chunks. Certain hair needs to be done by a professional to achieve the blonde that you want. If you can't afford a salon, try going to a cosmetology school, it will be cheaper, and you get the colour that you want, with a lot less damage than doing it your self.

either leave it on longer to break the orange-yellow or , if you have left it on 40 minutes or longer, you might need to go up a level or 2 on the developer.

if you decide to change developer here are a few hints:

never color while on or close to your period. the body heats up at this time and might make your scalp burn.

not after exercise either for the same reason. or after brushing your hair - same reason.

now, after telling you all this, i will tell you that the reason you are pulling orange is because you are a 'cool' color rather than a ' warm' color. and bleaching it totally blond will do a few things;

1. make you look sickly

2. make you have roots from H*LL in about 2 days

3. be seriously dry and will probably feel like snot when wet.

4. break off unevenly all over

what's the look you are trying to achieve?

twoods... has something going on here, but i'm wondering WHY you want it so light.

i'm thinking if you leave it orange-yellow you could put a light ash color/filler on it.......never mind.......well,yes, that would probably work. and you wouldn't have the root problem as badly as with straight bleach.

sorry, i've been thinking out loud.

you could

change developer

leave it on longer

add 'blonder' to the bleach

2 color process (bleach and color)

have it lolited so the bleach appears lighter
