is the medium brown color you have now your natural or a colored? if it's colored, you can't use color to lift out other color. then you're looking at bleaching your entire head, which is complicated and damaging if you don't know what you're doing. why not add a bunch of highlights and keep highlighting it every couple weeks or so until you reach your blond? it'll be a longer process but easier for you and safter for you hair if you're determined to do it at home.

And since there is no real way to find out what color your hair will naturally take, because it depends on everything; your time of the month, the weather, the original color your hair was, and so much more.
