How to dye my hair blond?

My hair is naturally medium brown but two months ago I dyed it reddish - so now it has a faded reddish hue. I would like to dye it ginger/blonde using a hairdye from a drugstore. Can I just put it on my hair and it will turn the desired color, or would I need to strip my hair of color alltogehert at first?

Also, which brand would you recommend so that my hair won't end up too dried out (I live in the USA)? Thanks!

Don't strip your hair, it'll make your hair horrible.

You probably won't get exactly what you want from a boxed color, but you can come close.

I use Herbal Essance Dye on my hair, doesn't damage and it stays healthy. Others I've tried have really dried my hair out.

I like Herbal Essance because I've found that it naturally highlights. I like to stick with auburn browns and this product seems to really be good with highlighting auburn.

And I think this would be good if you want a ginger/blonde. Match your hair color now the best you can to the diagrams on the side of the box to see what it'll turn out as, they aren't exact but come close I've found.

Good luck!

You should stop changing hair color too often. You might end up damaging your hair.

Oh no, you could go bald!!! j/k anyway a frost and tip kit would be cool. If you do the whole head it may dry it out too much. Try Sally Beauty Supply, they can help and they have everything.

The hair strands they have hanging infront of the color is more accurate than the color on the bottle, book, or box. Just make shure the hair strands are not mixed up. I like to take them and hold them to my face in a mirror to see how they match my skin %26amp; eyes.

If you're having all those problems, you should get it done at a beauty parlor. You could try doing it yourself, but you might end up with more problems. Nice 'N Easy is a good hair color, however different shades come out differently on all people. You can't go by the shade on the box.

Call clairol hair color experts @ 1-800-CLAIROL %26amp; ask

them I fond them to be VERY helpful.

They will probably tell you like they told me, have it done

by a professional since it will have to be striped %26amp; then colored . Best to do it the right way then to end up

frying your hair %26amp; going bald.

Auburn or red hair wouldn't lighten very well infact it would look more orange. If you have dark hair and desire to go lighter, it's recommended that you bleach it first then tint it with the lighter hair color. If you've never bleached your hair before, you really should go to a salon. If you end up trying to do it yourself, stay away from Clairol because it's the harshest you can use on your hair.

I am a natural blonde and I dyed my hair dark brown a couple of years ago. I couldn't afford to go to a hair stylist when I wanted to go back to blonde so I bought a colour stripper, but it didn't work too great. I had organge hair for two days before I could strip it again and it was in horrible health after that. I would strongly recommend you talk to a hairdresser, even just over the counter, ask their opinion on your hair as your hair's health will play a big role. I only say this as I wouldn't risk your hair becoming damaged or turned a weird colour.
