there is no "natural" color that will lighten hair.

these are based on plant derived stains. that means they will only deposit (darken) color.

The good news is if your only looking to lighten your hair to a brunette. This can be done very gently in a salon. You dont need to use bleach. Yes it does have to be done in a salon, because most salons are using new types of color that are very gentle most have less than 2% ammonia, and some have none at all, such as farouk colors.

black hair is very hard to dye because its so dark of a color youll have to dye it many times use conditioner

Even natural dyes dry and damage your hair. Especially if you are going from dark to light. Changing your hair from dark to light means you have to strip or bleach the natural color out of each strand. Frequently processing or dyeing your hair can make it very dry and brittle. You'll need to use lots of conditioner to keep it in pretty good shape. It won't be as pretty and shiny as your natural color though.

I think black hair is lovely, I think you should keep it natural.

ive tried that before with ammonia and alcohol free dyes but it wont work - black hair is the darkest so you will have to use a dye with bleach in it (any dye in the stores - not natural dyes).

your not going to be able to dye it straight from black you'll need to get it done in stages, if you go to the hairdressers and ask for a full head of highlights after a few times of getting this done itll be a nice blonde (= merry christmas!! x x x
