I heard that having blond hair helped reducing the appearance of skin imperfections (because it blurs the face) and made you look less pale. I'm a brunette, but I don't feel ready to die my entire head blond. Maybe just highlights, but are they kinda over right now? Can I just get blond reflects then?

If you have dark hair and at least a medium complexion, I would not go blond. Maybe get a few thin highlights in a blond a little darker and closer to your natural shade. Otherwise you'll look fake.
Highlights never go out, but if you have too much of a contrasting color then it's questionable.

Not the BIG thick highlights! But yeah blonde highlights are still in(i like them myself)!
